Hiding Place (Hardcover)
The Ten Boom family were a Dutch Christian family who aided Jewish people during the Holocaust. They felt it was their duty to aid and at one point even had a hidden room built into their family home, which was above the family clock repair shop. The title refers to both the physical hiding place where the Ten Boom family hid Jews from the Nazis and also to the Scriptural message found in Psalm 119:114: "Thou art my hiding place and my shield...." While many of their family were captured or killed by the Nazis, all of the Jews they helped made it through the war. A beautiful story of faith, compassion, duty, and strength.— Jason
Out of the evil called the Holocaust arose a witness, a voice that
even the Nazis could not silence, a voice that testified to the
power of God to overcome every wickedness and sorrow.
Corrie ten Boom is that witness and her powerful story recounts
the courage of one Christian family of Dutch watchmakers who
determined to save Jews and resistance workers from the Gestapo
forces that had overrun the Netherlands. Following the war Corrie began to tell her story of God's
faithfulness and his mercy, even in the darkest and deepest pit.
The same faith that compelled the ten Boom family to stand firm
in the face of evil would continue to shape Corrie's life as she bore
witness to the great power of God's love to forgive, to heal, and to
restore. "A groundbreaking book that shines a clear light on one of
the darkest moments of history."
